I have chosen the following pattern samples because they are the easiest patterns for a beginner knitter. In very simple cases, knitting can be done without tools, using only the fingers to do these tasks; however, knitting is usually carried out using tools such as knitting needles, knitting machines or rigid frames.
Sport weight yarns are also used in the machine. For large or complex patterns, it is sometimes difficult to keep track of which stitch should be knit in an particular way; therefore, several tools have been developed to identify the number of a particular row or stitch, including circular stitch markers, hanging markers, extra yarn and counters. The fact that knitting is such an easily portable activity also allows for us to mitigate stressful situations.
A wale can split into two or more wales using increases, most commonly involving a yarn over. As far as the patterns are concerned you should remember that the pattern and the ply should be the same, so use four ply yarn for a four ply pattern and Aran' yarn for an Aran' pattern. During knitting, the active stitches are secured mechanically, either from individual hooks (in knitting machines) or from a knitting needle or frame in hand-knitting.
It doesn't all happen at once. Not only will this provide a nice social outlet, but your new knitting friends may also be able to help you locate and use new knitting patterns and new ideas for knitting projects.
