Knitting is no longer only for grandmothers or just any mothers. I have chosen the following pattern samples because they are the easiest patterns for a beginner knitter.
The two types of stitches have a different visual effect; the knit stitches look like "V"'s stacked vertically, whereas the purl stitches look like a wavy horizontal line across the fabric. Knitting is the process done by the loops, and these loops are stitched through each others and this way, you will get different patterns of the cloths and fabrics. Flat knitting, on the other hand, is used, in its most basic form, to make flat, rectangular pieces of cloth.
In spinning, the fibers are twisted so that the yarn resists breaking under tension; the twisting may be done in either direction, resulting in an Z-twist or S-twist yarn. This is used to great effect in lace knitting, which consists of making patterns and pictures using such holes, rather than with the stitches themselves. They are used for knitting socks, hats, and sleeves.
Exercise is great, yet, doing something for your soul, is just as important. Keep YOUR knitting on the "Cutting Edge" with FREE patterns.
